Mission
Mission has long been one of Trinity Presbyterian’s most important activities, and the church has a long tradition of support for projects that provide service to people in our local community, our nation and around the world.
As a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA), Trinity has always pledged at least 10 percent of its budget to the mission work of our denomination. Each year, more than 20 percent of every budgeted dollar given to Trinitygoes to help others. And when special offerings and extra-budget giving are included, more than 30 percent of every dollar given to Trinity goes to help people beyond its walls.
Among other numerous charities, Trinity provides aid to the following local mission causes:
- Habitat for Humanity
- The Central Missouri Food Bank
- Loaves and Fishes
- St. Francis House
- Z. Lois Bryant House
- Granny’s House
- The Intersection
- Stubbins Home
- The Interfaith Council Day Center
- The Voluntary Action Center
- The Wardrobe
Trinity also helps individual missionaries in various parts of the developing world. At present, the church supports:
- Don and Martha Wehmeyer, missionaries in Merida, Mexico
- Mike and Nancy Haninger, missionaries in Africa
- Alex and Amy Junk, Campus Crusade missionaries
- One scholarship per year at San Pablo Seminary in Merida, Mexico
If you want to helpother people, Trinity can be the facilitator. Many opportunities exist for hands-on mission work and for regular mission trips for youth and adults. Trinity takes great joy in helping others.
