Sunday School

According to the Book of Order, education is one of the most important responsibilities of the church; it lies at the heart of many of the Great Ends of the Church.  Nationally, this priority on education is reflected in the Presbyterian Church’s 72 church-related colleges and universities and its 12 seminaries.

The founding fathers of the United States of America, the majority of whom were Presbyterians, believed that an educated citizenry was integral if the new U.S. government were to prosper.  Likewise, Presbyterians believe that an educated clergy and membership are just as important to the life and health of the church.

Therefore, education is important to Presbyterians both in secular academic disciplines and in theology.  As members of the Body of Christ, we are expected to continually develop our understanding of what we believe, why we believe it, and how those beliefs affect how we live our lives.

Trinity’s Sunday School meets at 9:30 a.m. between the two services throughout most of the year and at 9 a.m. during the summer.  There are two classes for adults:  a traditional Bible study class and an Exploration class that explores Biblical issues and topics.

A crib room and nursery are provided for infants and toddlers, from birth to age 2.  Classes are currently available for pre-school children, ages 3 and 4; for kindergarteners, from age 5 to third grade; for grades four and five; and for youth ranging in age from sixth grade to high school.  The makeup of classes changes each year depending on enrollment.

Normally during one week in the early summer, Trinity offers Vacation Bible School in the evening for children.  Please click on the link at the end of this sentence for more specific details regarding the next Vacation Bible School.
